Dear Tawnee, The book that I read was The Child Called It, by Dave Pelzer. I choose this book because I it sounded like a good book. This book is the best book that I have read so far in my life. This book is about a little boy named Dave. Dave’s life is so horrible. His mother beats him all the time. Dave’s mom hardly lets him eat and, when he dose its only because he got his chores done on time, and when he doesn’t get his chores done on time he has to eat his brothers leftovers. He also is never allowed outside unless he is going to school. One night Dave's mother was drunk (like usual) and Dave didn’t o what he was supposed to and his mother stabbed him in the stomach. Then she made him drink ammonia because when he was doing the dishes he snuck leftover scraps and ate them but his mother caught him and he had to drink ammonia. He had to drink ammonia so many times that his tongue started to peal. After ammonia came Clorox. When Dave’s family eats he has to go down into the basement and then he is called up to so the dishes and empty the garbage. When he goes to empty the garbage he sneaks the leftover food. I liked this book because it is sad and I like sad books. The book was very interesting because it was about a little boy getting beat, and him trying to fight against his mom so she won’t kill him. Because already she has stabbed him and made him lay down on a burning hot stove and he burnt his stomach, and also she broke his arm because she was mad at him and made him bend over and she grabbed his arm and twisted it. My partner should read this book because it is very interesting and I think you should read it. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say about an 8 because this book gives a lot of information about his life and what his mom really did to him when he was just a little boy.
